Larry Wood
Independence Day has a whole new meaning for Larry Wood. The full-time heavy equipment operator was enjoying a day of recreation on July 4th when an ATV accident completely changed his world. In the accident, Larry sustained a brain injury. An ambulance transported him to IU Bloomington Hospital, where Larry experience complications, including a stroke and an infection.
Heather Hinton
For the past 22 years, Heather Hinton has been employed at Gateway Rehabilitation Hospital. If you've been to our hospital, you may recognize her smiling face greeting you from the front desk.
Rondall Brock
Rondall Brock loves spending time outdoors and in nature. One of his favorite pastimes is camping with his family and friends at Lake Cumberland. On his most recent camping trip over the 4th of July holiday, Rondall tripped and fell, causing a vertebral fracture. Though he tried his best to get by at home, the pain became too severe. Rondall struggled to walk and couldn't care for himself
Viva Davis
Before her fall, Viva Davis was independent and living at home, doing quite well and enjoying being able to spend time with her family. Then one day, she had a fall while trying to make her bed. Viva immediately had pain in her right leg and needed to go to the hospital. X-rays revealed that Viva had fractured her right hip.
Patricia Showalter
Patricia Showalter had become very unsteady on her left side, causing her to struggle to walk. Patricia went to Mercy Jewish Hospital, where doctors diagnosed her with a brain tumor known as meningioma. After undergoing surgery to remove her tumor, Patricia struggled to regain her function.
Victoria White
For Victoria White, 2022 started just like any other year, working full-time and living her everyday life. Then, one morning, Victoria woke up and couldn't move her arms and legs. Thankfully, she managed to use the emergency contact function on her phone to call her sister for help.
