Gateway Rehabilitation Hospital, a Vibra Healthcare medical rehabilitation hospital dedicated to helping patients recover from serious illness, injury, and surgery, is pleased to welcome Dr. Stephen Heis, MD, a board-certified Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) physician, to its medical staff.

Dr. Heis has been practicing Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation since 2019 and is committed to helping patients progress safely and confidently. He emphasizes clear communication, realistic goal setting, and close collaboration with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary care team to support meaningful recovery, improved independence, and an encouraging, motivating rehabilitation experience.

Dr. Heis earned his medical degree in 2015 after completing a Master of Public Health in 2011. Before pursuing his medical career, he attended East Carolina University, where he played football from 2005 to 2009. Outside of work, Dr. Heis enjoys spending time outdoors and boating with his wife and their two German Shorthaired Pointers.
